Fuel subsidy: Get ready for mother of all strikes, NLC tells Nigerians

The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has vowed to lead Nigerians out on a nationwide strike if the Federal Government failed to reverse the fuel subsidy removal and other anti-people policies within seven days.

The labour union said the indefinite nationwide strike will commence. from August 2 if the federal government did not budge.

Consequently, the NLC has directed all its affiliates and state councils to immediately begin mobilization of workers and other Nigerians, including civil society allies, for a long-lasting strike and mass protests should the government fail to meet its demands.

This formed one of the decisions taken at NLC’s Central Working Committee, CWC, meeting held Tuesday, July 25, at Abuja Labour House.
