AFCON: Davido breaks silence after losing N495M following Super Eagles’ defeat

Prominent singer, Davido breaks silence after he lost a whopping $348K (N495 million) after the Nigerian Super Eagles got defeated by Morocco in the 2026 AFCON.

It would be recalled that the Super Eagles lost their penalty shootout after failing to secure a win during the match.
Goalkeeper Yassine Bounou emerged as the hero on Wednesday night as host nation Morocco defeated Nigeria 4–2 on penalties to secure a place in the Africa Cup of Nations final, following a tense semi-final encounter that ended goalless after extra time.
The Afrobeats singer, prior to the match, had disclosed that he had wagered $50K and expected to get a payout of $348K dollars.

“Nigerians to make the finals and I’ll double my stake on my slip,” Davido wrote while sharing his slip.
Following his loss, he shared a photo of him winding down with a sumptuous meal of grilled fish before flying out of Morocco.
