Nollywood actress Ruby Ojiakor has taken to Instagram to address and dispel rumors surrounding her relationship with the late actor Junior Pope. Following his tragic death in a boat accident on set, speculation arose suggesting an extramarital affair between them, fueled by Ruby’s vocal calls for justice.
In a video message posted on her Instagram page, Ruby emphatically denied these rumors, asserting that Junior Pope was never her boyfriend. She clarified that there was no romantic involvement between them and emphasized that he is not the father of her child, Royalty.
The rumors gained further attention when Junior Pope’s wife, Jennifer, reportedly unfollowed Ruby on Instagram after his burial, adding to the speculation. However, Ruby’s statement aimed to set the record straight and put an end to any misunderstandings about their relationship.
By addressing the issue directly, Ruby aimed to clarify her stance and respect the memory of Junior Pope while ensuring that the truth is known to the public.

“Junior Pope was never my boyfriend. There’s no intimacy between myself and Junior Pope. We never dated. Junior Pope was never my intimate friend. He was just my friend. He was more than a friend. He was my big brother
I also see a lot of posts, some persons will just screenshot and send to me and say, ‘Look at what they’re saying, they said he [Junior Pope] is Royalty’s father.’ I just looked at it and I laughed. How can people reason this way? Please and please, Junior Pope is not Royalty’s father. He’s not my daughter’s father. I just want to clarify this.”
