In a dramatic incident in northern Brazil, a man fell 40 feet onto a police car and landed on the concrete road while attempting to escape from authorities.
The event occurred on Sunday night, May 12, during a police operation targeting neighborhood drug dealers in Marechal Floriano, following the arrest of a teenager for drug-related offenses.
The 17-year-old youth was apprehended while carrying cocaine intended for sale to a 31-year-old man. During the operation, officers were alerted to noise coming from an apartment building. Upon investigation, they saw two men trying to escape from a third-floor window.
One of the men successfully landed on the rear-view window of a police SUV and fled the scene. However, his 26-year-old accomplice was not as fortunate.
Footage captured on a smartphone shows the man attempting to climb down, losing his balance, and hitting his head on the window before landing on the ground next to the police car.
The injured suspect was swiftly transported to Dr. Arthur Gerhardt Hospital by the Military Police for treatment of trauma and later moved to São Lucas Hospital. Once he is fit for discharge, he will be transferred to a nearby jail.
During a subsequent search of the apartment, police seized 295 crack rocks, 45 packages of cocaine, 10 grams of crack, 189 grams of cocaine paste, and $116. Despite suspicions, the 31-year-old man who was allegedly meeting the teenager to purchase drugs was released due to insufficient evidence. The teenager admitted to drug trafficking in a logbook and was released to his family.
