Wike woos Hungarian experts for security drones

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has expressed interest in contacting security experts from Hungary to get effective drones that will supplement the measures towards addressing insecurity in Abuja.

The Minister disclosed this when he received the Consul-General of the Embassy of Hungary in Nigeria, Endre Peter Deri in his office in Abuja.

He said that measures his administration adopted to fight insecurity in FCT were already yielding good results,  but there was need to deepen search for more lasting solutions.

Wike stated, “Security has been an issue, but by the grace of God, we are able to tackle the issue. We want to have drones, and discussions will be held with your people to determine the type of drones we need.”

He equally expressed interest in working with investors from Hungary to take advantage of the opportunities in FCT’s agricultural sector.

In his remarks,  the Consul-General of the Embassy of Hungary in Nigeria, Endre Peter Deri who applauded the efforts of the administration in different sectors.

Peter -Deri said security experts will be willing to sell drones to the FCTA to address security concerns and presented a proposal for collaboration.

According to him, the University of Agriculture in his country will also be willing to cooperate with the FCT in ensuring food security through sustainable production practices, particularly through public-private partnerships (PPP).
