Ondo PDP Gets New Executives

Former Chairman of Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State, Hon. Dupe Aisida, has emerged unanimously as the Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

Aisida, a pioneer member of the party, replaced a former Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Chief Bakitta Bello, who completed the tenure of Hon Fatai Adams, who died in office.

Apart from Aisida, Chief Akin Oyewole was elected as Deputy Chairman, while Mr. Oluseye Olujimi was elected as Secretary of the opposition party. Also, Jolade Aladetan was elected as the publicity secretary, and Woke Akindiose was elected as the legal adviser.

Speaking after the affirmation of the new executive members of the party, Aisida said he would not allow the efforts of the founding fathers of the party to go in vain as they would bring all stakeholders together for the progress of the party.

Aisida said the mandate is not for him alone but for every faithful party member who has watered the seed of the party with their sweat, steadfastness, sacrifices, and loyalty.

Giving assurance to party members despite the trial being faced by the party, the Chairman said, “We are not strangers to trials. Yes, our party has known seasons of turbulence and tribulations. We have been bruised, sometimes by the enemies outside, most times by cracks within – however, like the palm tree in the storm, the PDP has bent, yet it has never broken!”

His words, “We will rise again – stronger, wiser, and more determined. My team and I share a common vision: unity without exception and progress without exclusion.

“While we will remain persuasive with our doors wide open to all, we are determined to instill discipline to regain the glory of our party through a deliberate recourse to our party’s constitution and organs of the party at all times.”

Aisida said the new executive members would reach out to the founding fathers who built the PDP’s house and to the young blood whose future in the party lies in the future. He said the women would be reached out to for mobilisation for future political endeavours.

He said the PDP would put the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on its toes. However, he said there would not be destructive criticism but proffer solutions to the myriad of problems facing the state and the nation.

The Chairman appealed to members to forget the events that divided the members into factions, but worked together to restore confidence in members, rekindle hope in members and supporters alike. He said the PDP would be presented as an alternative to the ruling party.
