We are not joining the Coalition - Kogi SDP

The Social Democratic Party (SDP), in Kogi state, has said it is not going to be part of the ongoing political coalition in the country.

Speaking at an extraordinary meeting at the party state Headquarters in Lokoja, the Party’s governorship candidate in the 2023 gubernatorial election, Alh. Muritala Yakubu Ajaka said the party will continue in its mission to liberate the people of Kogi state.

Alh. Ajaka, who is equally the state leader of the party, told the party faithful in the meeting to remain steadfast towards the party’s success in subsequent elections.

He said the SDP in the state and the entire country, is already waxing stronger, hence joining any coalition would be counter productive.

Speaking on the lingering dispute within the party, Ajaka affirmed that there is no faction in Kogi SDP as Alh. Ahmed Attah and Alh. Idris Sofada remains the authentic state Chairman and Secretary of the party.

Ajaka further hinted that he will be contesting for the coming 2027 election in the state.

He therefore urged members of the party to embark on massive sensitization on the ongoing voters registration in the state and the country in general.

Also speaking, the chairman of the party, Alh. Ahmed Attah informed the party members that the journey to rescue the people of the state, is closer.

The state Secretary of the party, Alh. Idris Sofada, in his remark urged all stakeholders in the party to continue giving their their support the party.

Dignitaries at the meeting include, Hon. Sam Rantin Abenemi, state Zonal Chairmen, Chairmen and and Secretaries across the 21 Local Government Areas of the state, and others.
